After a min. turn red heater knob to 160 deg. & press red button. 4. When tank is full & wash cycle starts, stir up (or add) detergent. WASH PROCEDURE: 1. Push rack of dirty dishes into machine & lower door. 2. Add and/or stir up detergent about once every 7 racks washed. SHUTDOWN PROCEDURE: 1. Turn red heater dial to "off" & open the drain valve. 2. Turn switch from "auto" to "hand" 3. Clean filter trays, etc. as needed. LOADING RACKS for the DISHWASHER Put silverware vertically in the pockets of the small silverware rack. Put this rack on top of a simple (full size) rack. The racks with pegs are for dishes. Cups and mugs will fit although the spot where the peg hits might not get clean. Some bowls will fit in the racks made for plates but medium size bowls will take up the space for 2 plates. Both surfaces of dishes must be exposed so don't try putting on a second layer (of say bowls) over a first layer (of say cups). All bowls and cups must be placed upside-down to keep water from collecting in them. GREEN RINSE LIQUID If the green rinse liquid in the bottle on top of the dishwasher isn't very green anymore (compare to a new bottle), it's time to replace it. The green liquid is used up by injecting clear (fresh) water into the bottle as the dishwasher operates so that the level of liquid in the bottle never changes (only the color does). To remove the old bottle, hold it up, push up on the white plastic ring (by the top of the bottle), and gently pull the bottle down. To put in a new bottle, remove the cap, insert the hose, and push both the bottle and the white plastic ring up as far as they will go. While pushing the bottle up, pull the white plastic ring down until it firmly rests on the top part of the bottle. Then test to see if the bottle will easily pull down a little ways. If it does you have not done the above correctly. Repeat, but this time push and pull a little harder. DETERGENT You are supposed to use only commercial dishwasher detergent available from some restaurant supply stores or wholesale grocers. It's much stronger than the dishwasher detergent sold in markets for home use. The later should not be used (but it is better than using no detergent at all). Beware, most "wholesale" grocers sell mainly to the public and don't carry any commercial detergent.
