furniture FURNITURE (by David Lawyer 1994) In 1994 chairs for Throop Hall were Bertolini Seating, Los Angeles (out of business?, someone said moved to near Fresno?). Takes a 5/8" square plugs in the rear frame. Extra screws in upstairs janitors closet for backrest. Many backs have broken wood inside but they are still usable. If a screw will not stay in, drill a new holes while holding the backrest more forward. 5 of the newer banquet table legs were repaired by welding in Apr. 1994. The quality of the old ones is better than the new ones as the old ones have no welds in the legs. The 5 repaired had all welds redone and should be better than new. A few more broke in 1995 and were also welded. The quality of new ones available at Staples for $40 is low (worse than what we have). Better ones are said to be made by Samsonite, but our newer ones are "Fort Smith" by "Samsonite" and had weak welds. There are some Cos. which sell school & church furniture via catalog. One has a folding table with a top guaranteed for 50 yrs.: cost $250+. PIANOS: Upstairs: Vose & Sons (medium quality) 48525. Worth almost nothing. Hammer glued back and broken butt plates (61519B) replaced 1995. Nos. are from Pacific Piano Supply catalog, 16153 Leadwill, LA, CA 91406, (818) 779-1586. Need cork bridal tape 59536A-M(medium).
